Scalloped Potatoes

Scalloped Potatoes

Serves: 6-8

Ingredients
6 medium potatoes
4 Tbsp butter
2 Tbsp flour
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1 cup milk (approximately)
Salt & Pepper, to taste

Method

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Peel potatoes and cut into thin slices. Grease a large glass baking dish. Mix nutmeg and flour together. Chop butter into tiny pieces.

Layer potatoes in bottom of dish, sprinkle with salt and pepper and flour/nutmeg mixture. Dot with butter pieces. Repeat until all potatoes are used. Add milk until it comes about 2/3 of the way up the sides of the pan. Cover and bake until potatoes are tender when pierced with a fork, about 40-45 minutes. Uncover during the last 15 minutes of cooking time so the top browns. Serve right from the baking dish.

Tip: If you need to make more than 4 layers, it is best to use a larger dish instead. More than that will result in difficulty during cooking.
